CASTLE® Personal Survey

The CASTLE® Principles

As part of our ongoing research efforts at the Secretan Center we asked people what they felt were the characteristics of uninspiring people and relationships—at home or at work, in politics, religion, academia, in our marriages, or among our families and friends. The results showed that people were typically turned off by others who were,

  • Cowardly
  • Phony
  • Selfish
  • Untruthful
  • Fear-based, and
  • Incompetent.

It made no difference whether they were CEOs, stay-at-home moms, politicians, firefighters, or athletes—or whether they came from different countries and cultures.

From there, it was a short intellectual leap to realize that the opposites of these limiting practices—courage, authenticity, service, truthfulness, love and effectiveness—would describe the proficiencies of an inspiring human being. This is how the CASTLE® Principles were born.

    The acronym CASTLE® stands for,

    • Courage
    • Authenticity
    • Service
    • Truthfulness
    • Love, and
    • Effectiveness.

Simply put, we LOVE courageous, authentic, serving, truthful, loving and effective people!

When fully lived, these six principles are the path to becoming free from living small, uninspiring lives. (See a detailed explanation here
