One of my dearest friends lives in Haifa, Israel. I have known him for nearly forty years and we have been very close. I have watched him grow two generations of families, spending time with them in many different parts of the world.
I called him a couple of days ago to make sure he is safe – I was worried about him and his family.
It struck me as so sad – and yet so beautiful – that tomorrow he will be celebrating the marriage of his youngest daughter at their home, amid the rockets that are raining down on Haifa.
Sadly, in the minds of many people, we are not yet ONE in the world. It is a blessing that love can be celebrated amidst the hell on earth that is called war.Thank you for visiting this website and being interested in our work – you are bringing the world a little closer to realizing that we are one. This is the leadership that will change the world.
Thanks for having the eye to pick out and celebrate such an event. It reminds me that we all need to do more seeking of opportunities to celebrate the good amidst the “hells” of this world. More of us need to have the eye to see then celebrate the servant leader deep within an organization that is still too bureaucratic or “old school” designed. Too often these leaders go unnoticed because they lead with a quite soul that makes big noise heard only by those that can see and appreciate the servant leader or the company celebrates the positive outcome without a mention of the process. I am reminded of this annually at the Greenleaf Conference. Thanks for your reminder to look for and find these jewels among the rough and that there can be celebration in the midst of ???hell???
