Follow your Heart – the Money Will Come!

So many people work in order to make a living. And an inspired minority are living because they love their work.

A central theme of our work at The Secretan Center is inviting people to listen to their hearts and follow their passion when choosing their work; to think about, and possibly end, their current work, if it is drudgery, and instead, to reflect on where their gifts and passion lie, and then pursue them.

You may never have heard of Sandra Boynton. She has sold half-a-billion greetings cards, tens of millions of books and her CDs have garnered three gold records and one Grammy nomination. It’s not a job for Sandra Boynton – she doesn’t do it for the money – she does it because she loves what she does, and of course, the result is that she makes a lot of money. It always works that way. We can all learn from Sandra Boynton’s words: “I love what I do, I love the people I work with, I care very much about the value of the work I create, and I don’t need more money than I have. This is not revolutionary philosophy. It’s just common sense.” For more information, read the excellent article in the New York Times and watch this inspiring video – you will be reinvigorated by the passion and commitment – as well as the music and mastery.
