General Features
Shake your phone to reveal a card.
Swipe or use the left and right arrows to search for additional cards. (Alternate method: Tap the hamburger menu icon—top right of the screen—and use “card finder”).
Tap on the card to read the brief description of the meaning of the word as well as the artist’s description of the artwork. Tap again to reverse the card back again.
While the card is reversed, you can access the poem by clicking on the “poem” icon, which will give you the option of reading it or hearing Lance Secretan read it for you. Use the back button to return to the previous menu.
While the card is reversed, you can also access the full chapter written for that card. Use the right arrow or swipe right) to move to the next page. Use the back arrow to return to the front of the card.
In the Chapters, some of the words are highlighted. Clicking on the highlighted word will take you directly to the card for that highlighted word.
Footer Buttons
“Journal”: You can make entries in your journal. This is where you may choose to record the cards you have chosen so that you can follow the history of the cards you have selected each day.
“Pods”: Create a small group—called “Pods”— with whom you can share cards. When you choose a card, those in your pod will see it displayed on their device, just as you will see theirs. Click on “+Create Pod” link, name your new pod, and send invitations to those you wish to become members of your pod.
“Orange Shuffle Icon”: This center button returns you to the home page and shuffles a new card for you.
“Spreads”: This will take you to a page which lists a variety of different “spreads” you can use with your cards. Click on any of the twelve icons to choose the spread you want to use.
“To Be Today”: Shake your device to select a card. The card chosen becomes your “To BE List” for the day. You are being asked to BE the quality described by that card. It cannot be removed (so you must BE that for the entire day ☺) but expires at the end of each day. You will have the opportunity to select a new one the following day. There is also a separate area where you can create your “To Do List” as well. Just click the + sign to add a “to do” to your list.
Header Icon
“Share Icon”: This orange icon enables you to share the card you have chosen to anyone you choose, by presenting you with various options (text, email, social media, etc.). The recipient will see a description of your card (but not an image) and an invitation to download the app.

“Video”: There are nine videos to be found here—an overview of the Spirit@Work® Cards, a series of videos explaining Lance Secretan’s widely used CASTLE® Principles, and a video in which Lance Secretan interviews David Rankine, the artist who designed the graphics of the cards, explaining how they came up with the artwork between them. There are also meditation videos in this “video” section.

Inspiration in the Cloud
We have also created a sumptuous multimedia experience which includes a deep-dive, 2-3 minute, mini-seminar, for each of the words, including video, music, humor, famous quotes and Lance Secretan’s take on the meaning and implication of each word, delivered in his trademark, award-winning style (www.secretan.com/inspiration-cloud).
Groups of participants join a zoom call, and one participant shakes their phone and chooses a card on their mobile app. Lance Secretan then shares his screen, which reveals the same card chosen, enabling him to share the teaching and the visuals that go with the chosen card.
The person who chose the card may ask, “What does that card mean for me?”, or, “Am I able to practice this value day-to-day?”, “Does my leader practice this value?”, or, “Can I support others to grow their practice of this value?”, or, “Please share a great example of someone practicing, and living, this value”, etc. Other participants are then invited to share their experience with that card and its value. As a result, rich and inspiring conversations quickly gather momentum. Everyone participates in sharing and learning.
Effectively, this is improv. It turns the traditional method of teaching upside down, where an expert “talking head” shares their knowledge with participants in a one-way communication. In this case, it’s the opposite—the agenda is controlled by the participants who take the conversation in the direction of the card chosen, while sharing the wisdom that lies innately within them. It is a “Socratic” methodology. The natural wisdom within participants is always inspiring, and the speed at which topics of significant meaning are covered, enables a deep connection among participants. Sometimes we will discuss many cards, and on other occasions, only one. This all depends on the energy of the group, and the skill and intuition of the facilitator about where the conversation should be guided. But wherever the conversation goes, the essential element is inspiration. The goal, every time, is for everyone to leave the conversation more inspired than when they arrived, and also to gain some useful ideas about how they can live more inspired lives and how they can be more inspiring for others.
