Thank you to all the ONE Community Members who joined our first Teleclass – and especially for doing so on Valentine’s Day! Any suggestions or ideas or questions that remain, please post a reply to this blog – I welcome your contributions.
Below, I have included Amelie Earhart’s poem “Courage”, which I shared during our call. Namaste! Lance.
Courage by Amelia Earhart
Courage is the price which life exacts for
granting peace.
The soul that knows it not, knows no release
From little things;
Knows not the livid loneliness of fear
Nor mountain heights, where bitter joy you can
hear
The sound of wings.
How can life grant us boon of living,
compensate,
For dull gray ugliness and pregnant hate
Unless we dare
The soul’s dominion? Each time we make a
choice we pay
With courage to behold resistless day
And count it fair.
When Lance asked us in our first teleclass for ONE teachers what came to mind when we thought of Courage, you asked that I post the saying I thought of and read by Morris L. West. It is as follows:
“It costs so much to be a full human being that there are very few who have the enlightenment or the courage to pay the price…..
One has to abandon altogether the search for security, and reach out to the risk of living with both arms.
One has to embrace the world like a lover.
One has to accept pain as a condition of existence.
One has to court doubt and darkness as the cost of knowing.
One needs a will stubborn in conflict, but apt always to total acceptance of every consequence of living and dying.”
How ironic that the beginning of every sentence except the first begins with the word “ONE,” and that first sentence begins with “It costs.” Isn’t it worth the cost!
I have had this saying up on my wall since my mother died 15 years ago. Reading it off and on over these past years has helped get me through some of the more difficult times in my life. It rings so true with me and in my eyes is worth every cost.
My mother had it up on her wall for I don’t know how long. She lived the CASTLE principles in her life. How grateful am I to have had her for my Mother.
Hope you all can use it somehow in your pursuit of courage in revealing the CASTLE principles to the world.
Namaste,
Lori
