Airbnb CEO Brian Chesky, has removed all guest and host fees for bookings in Ukraine. The idea behind his move is to open a channel for direct support to Ukrainians. If you book an Airbnb reservation, (of course you won’t need to actually go!) all of the money will go directly to the host and none to the company, and the host will receive the funds 24 hours after the property’s check-in time.
Chesky reports that over 61,000 nights have been booked in Ukraine in the first couple of days of March.
This is an example of the amazing creativity and goodwill that humans naturally possess, when left to their own devices—it is remarkable and inspiring.
What other creative ways would you propose for supporting and showing our love for our brothers and sisters who are under siege?
