Reversing Social Malaise

According to Gallup:

In 2024, adults worldwide reported high levels of daily distress: 39% felt a lot of worry, 37% felt stress, 32% experienced physical pain, 26% felt sadness and 22% felt anger. All are higher than they were a decade ago.

What is the antidote to this pain?

I could see this coming a few years ago – a society sliding into despair and a deep distrust of institutions – and this especially noticeable among young people, but also everyone else too.  So I wondered if my successful work helping leaders of some of the best managed companies in the world could be adapted to focus on the individual and their sense of disappointment and hopelessness. So, I took everything I had learned working with inspiring leaders and mashed it up into a new book titled, “Reawakening the Human Spirit: Finding the Spark, the Flame, and the Torch Within“.

Bingo! it worked.

So I invite you to give yourself a gift – reawaken your human spirit.  We can still become inspired, even in a world that does not always feel inspiring. Not only will you reframe your own life, but you will be an inspiration for others.

It is available as a traditional; book, and also Audible and Kindle. Check it out here: https://secretan.com/books-dvds/reawakening-human-spirit/

Be Grateful. Stop Complaining! Be Inspiring!

For all the people who love to multitask - it's an illusion. Fortunately for humans, we can only do one thing at a time, even though we mistakenly believe we can competently do multiple tasks at once. For example, try dancing and typing an email at the same time. Or...

Remote Work is Here to Stay – Get over it!

Some corporate leaders are living in a parallel universe. Facebook, among many companies, has mandated that employees return to work for a minimum of three days a week. Some leaders seem to believe that if you can't see your employees, then they are probably goofing...

This Genie Will Not Go Back in the Bottle!

The first use of the word “work” dates to the 13th century, meaning "physical effort, exertion". But it was not until the 17th century that the phrase “going to work” was used. Shakespeare was one of the first to use this phrase, and we have been “going to work” ever...

Forgiveness The Gift We Give Ourselves

I'm going to go out on a limb in this blog… the Internet these days seems to be a place where if you share your authentic opinions you're likely to attract vitriol. I hope this is not the case here, and I would love to know if you agree with these thoughts. The world...

Reawakening the Human Spirit

Over the last three years, I have noticed a precipitous decline in the level of personal inspiration among those with whom I work or socialize. Many people have lost their inspiration altogether, replacing it with an unhealthy sense of helplessness. Pandemics,...
