We have been fortunate to have had Dr. Lance Secretan as keynote speaker in two of our Leadership Summits at FGF where he shared the important distinction between inspiration and motivation. This key distinction has helped our leaders modify their approach and inspire our Team Members to achieve great things every day as we continue our journey of becoming the World’s Greatest Baker.

Lance is one of the most inspirational people I have met. He helped awaken in our organization a set of principles of Leadership that had been pushed to the background by years of focusing on the wrong things. He has been a mentor to me. Just knowing him helped me move in directions I never thought possible in the business world.

Lance is interested in self-sustaining and dramatic improvement: what creates a positive energy that cannot be depleted? Lance teaches how inspiration and inspiring behavior transcend motivational fad, raise the game to the highest level, to the most people fastest; and are wholly integrated with one’s life (rather than seeing work life as separate from home life) thus creating a genuine, complete, and virtuous cycle.

Every once in a while a training class becomes something far more than the training class, it becomes an experience that’s life-changing. The Reawakening the Human Spirit Masterclass is just that. Not only did we discuss the concepts of the CASTLE principles, they became personal mantras that are now guideposts in my life. I truly know what it means to be inspired and will carry the lessons with me daily.
